Schaumburg Man, 77, Charged with Child Solicitation
Schaumburg man, 77, allegedly approached a 9-year-old girl for a sex act in a park Sunday, the Chicago Sun Times reports.
A 77-year-old Schaumburg man has been charged with indecent solicitation of a child after he allegedly propositioned a 9-year-old girl for a sex act in a park Sunday.
CBS Chicago reports, Paul R. Duke, 77, allegedly approached the girl in a Schaumburg park at Knollwood Drive and Pennview Lane where he offered the 9-year-old girl money to allow him to commit a sex act with her.
According to the Daily Herald, the girl ran and told an adult family friend who was with the child at the park and reported the incident. Schaumburg officers responded to a call at 2:46 p.m. Sunday of a suspicious person approaching children in the Schaumburg park. Duke was located and detained while the officers interviewed witnesses. Police said, the girl was not physically touched or harmed during the incident, the Chicago Sun Times reports.

Duke, 77, of the 2200 block of Pennview Lane, was arrested and charged with one felony count of indecent solicitation of a child. According to the Daily Herald, bond was set Monday at $50,000 at the Rolling Meadows courthouse, Duke's next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 25.
