Woodstock

Dan L. Huber is charged with, a Class 4 felony, according to a sheriff’s department release. His bond was set at $100,000.

Algonquin

An Algonquin man has been charged in federal court with two counts of transporting child pornography via the Internet and one count of possessing child pornography that crossed state lines.

John Carlson, 37, could face up to 10 years in prison, three years of supervised released and a fine of up to $250,000 on each count if convicted, according to a Federal Bureau of Investigation press release.

Lake Forest

Ariel M. Lizama, 42, of Park City was by August 3 as the result of an investigation arising out of an incident in a private Lake Forest Home July 3, according to Lake Forest Police Chief Jim Held.

Lizama was a long term housekeeper in the home , according to Held. After the death of one of the residents, a jewelry appraiser discovered there was less jewelry than the last time an appraisal was conducted.

“We contacted the pawn shops and confronted the woman,” Held said. Some of the jewelry was found in area pawn shops, according to Held. “That made our case.”

Des Plaines

The Des Plaines man arrested for cruelty after witnesses reported seeing him punching a small dog in front of his residence on June 7 was sentenced to 30 months in prison on Thursday, the Daily Herald reported. , 51, was also prohibited from owning animals for 20 years by the court.

Police said that Thomas P. Corbin initially contacted the investigator in July. Conversations led to Thomas soliciting the . Thomas made arrangements for his brother, Rick J. Corbin to contact the purported juvenile, which resulted in Rick reserving a hotel room at an undisclosed location in McHenry.
