An 83-year-old Woostock woman turned herself into McHenry County Sheriff police on Thursday afternoon after she said she unknowingly hit and killed 6-year-old Brayan Silva near Union on Sept. 8.

Varamae C. Phillip was charged with failure to report a fatal traffic accident and leaving the scene of a crime, the McHenry County Sheriff's Office said. Phillip posted 10 percent of a $50,000 bond and was released.

Buffalo Grove

Anthony Brust, a 21-year-old Buffalo Grove resident died Sept. 11 after a motorcycle crash in Long Grove Monday, the Daily Herald reported.

"We are investigating the use of huffing agents or huffing materials with relation this accident," Pfutzenreuter said. "It can include a lot of different things: cleaners, any types of compressed gases, paint thinners, glues."

Deerfield

Two Deerfield teenagers charged as adults with August burglaries in both Highland Park and Deerfield , according to Patricia Fix, the chief of the felony trial division in the Lake County State’s Attorney’s office.

Joshua Norris and Joseph Mahoney, both 17, were charged , according to Fix. They are both accused of the same offenses.

Algonquin

is again asking for the public to be on the lookout after a stranger reportedly and told her to get into his vehicle.

The report was made at 4:53 p.m. on Sept. 9 , according to an Algonquin Police Department press release.

Lake Zurich

Lake Zurich Police arrested a 26-year-old Mundelein man on Sept. 6 that was discovered in the 600 block of Waterford Drive on Aug. 23.

Ryan S. Rivera, 1052 W. Hawley Street in Mundelein, was charged with residential burglary and is being held in Lake County Jail on a $100,000 bond. 

Lake Zurich Police Commander David Bradstreet explained that Rivera was part of a house cleaning crew that was subcontracted to clean the residence. Rivera is alleged to . Bradstreet said the alleged offender was discovered after questioning of various individuals who had access to the home.

Niles

A landlord who owns a building in the 8400 block of Milwaukee called police on Sept. 10 regarding an incident with a repairman.

The landlord stated that she told the . She said a quote never was provided and the man called her demanding $100 for the inspection.

The woman said she told the man that she could not come to the apartment to pay him right away, but he could bill her or she could pay him the next day. The man .
