Homicide Leads Sought

Police are asking the public for help in solving the homicide of Harry Dahms, 68, of Russell. Dahms was found at in his driveway, the Lake County Sheriff’s Department stated.

Dahms was a former Lake County Fair board member who was known for working tirelessly at the old Fairgrounds at Routes 25 and 120 in Grayslake.  Family members , calling him a man with a "huge heart," and pleaded with the public for any information to help solve the crime.

Buffalo Grove

Four Charged With Robbery

have following an incident Wednesday night near Pine Tree Circle and Hidden Lake Drive. 

Charged with were John Mares-Coleman, 18, of 455 Raupp Blvd., Buffalo Grove; Kenneth Green, 20, and Robert Green, 19, both of 1131 Walnut Drive, Arlington Heights; and Jacobe Umoren, 20, of 915 Westmoreland Drive, Vernon Hills.

Buffalo Grove Cmdr. Jim Newton said the from a victim around 7 p.m. June 6.

“It was a replica of a real gun, but the victim thought it was a real gun,” he said. "Once we got them into custody, we determined it was just a pellet gun.”

Libertyville

Yelling, Shouting In Restaurant

Three individuals were charged with disorderly conduct May 29 at a restaurant on the 1400 block of Peterson Road. Police said they were called to the restaurant on a report of .

When they were told the police had been called, the three individuals fled but soon were located nearby, police said. Arrested were: Chad M. Cupal, 32, of 181 W. Arden Lane, Round Lake Beach; Josh Lee Herion, 32, of 415 Stevenson Drive, Libertyville; and Ryan K. Cupal, 30, of 121 Johnson St., Libertyville. All three were released on $120 cash bond pending a June 21 court date.

Strange Noises

A homeowner called the after hearing a loud humming from an unknown source in the foyer of the residence at 4:05 pm. May 29 in the 20 block of Warrington Drive. The fire department determined the sound was coming from a battery-operated razor located in the homeowner's backpack.

Crystal Lake

Homeowner Finds Burglar

Crystal Lake Police report an attempted burglary in the 400 block of Kelly Lane was .

Police said at about 11:15 a.m. Monday, June 4, they responded to the home for a report of a burglary in progress. An occupant in the Kelly Lane house .

Algonquin

Barn Burned

Fire officials responded last weekend to a fire at an Algonquin barn at 19N401 S. Randall Road, Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Department officials told Patch.

The fire was reported at 10:45 p.m. on June 2 on the vacant property, according to the NW Herald. Firefighters allowed the blaze to burn through the night since the "building was vacant," according to the article.

Palatine

Big Brush Fire
