Prosecutor: Palatine Woman on Cocktail of Drugs Before Crash
Prosecutors say Karli Casey of Palatine was under the influence of heroin, cocaine and codeine at the time of huffing and driving crash, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Karli M. Casey, the Palatine woman police said the contents of an aerosol can right before she passed out behind the wheel and caused a two-car crash in April was also under the influence of heroin, cocaine and codeine. The Chicago Tribune reports prosecutors alleged the use of those other drugs in court Thursday.
Casey who was 19 at the time of the accident celebrated her 20th birthday behind bars. With bond set at $20,000, the Palatine woman has been held at the Cook County Jail since the crash in late April. According to the Chicago Tribune, Casey enrolled in a drug treatment program at Cook County Jail.
Casey and four others were injured in the crash, including an who suffered life-threatening injuries who is currently still in the hospital, the Chicago Tribune reports.
