Police Search for Teen Who Robbed Joggers

Police search for teenage suspect who robbed two runners in Hoffman Estates Wednesday, the Daily Herald reports.

On a bicycle, armed with what looked to be a handgun, a teenage suspect robbed two different runners on the Poplar Creek bike trail in Hoffman Estates Wednesday, the Daily Herald reports.

The two victims were running alone when the suspect approached them and demanded they hand over their cell phones. According the Daily Herald, the suspect robbed the first jogger on the bike path west of Barrington Road and north of Bode Road around noon Wednesday and held up a second runner about three hours later around the same area.

The Daily Herald reports, officers from several law enforcement agencies tried to hunt down the teen suspect, but the police search that included helicopter support was unsuccessful.
