Police Release July 4 Holiday Enforcement Results
Palatine Police have released the number of arrests and tickets issued during their most recent holiday enforcement campaign.
Information provided by the Palatine Police Department
The Palatine Police Department is dedicated to making our roadways the safest they can be. To strengthen that effort, the Palatine Police Department partnered with the Illinois Department of Transportation in their 4th of July Holiday Traffic Safety Crackdown. Through a traffic safety grant, IDOT supplied funds to increase the number of uniformed Palatine Police officers on the roadways enforcing traffic laws over the 4th of July Holiday. The focus of this campaign was to get intoxicated motorists off the roads and make sure vehicle occupants are kept safe through the enforcement of seat belt and child restraint use.
Through the holiday, Palatine Police uniformed officers hit the streets on dedicated traffic enforcement saturation patrols. These saturation patrols emphasized the hours of midnight to 3:00 am which have proven to be the deadliest on Illinois roadways.
