Police: Driver in Palatine DUI Crash Identified

A 36-year-old Chicago man who police said was driving under the influence of alcohol when he caused a one-vehicle crash that sent himself and a passenger in his car to hospital has been identified as Leon Shields, according to the Daily Herald.

The driver in a one-car crash has been charged with driving while under the influence following an accident on Route 53 near Rand Road about 1:36 a.m. on Sunday, according to the Daily Herald. 

The driver had to be extricated and the driver and a passenger in the vehicle were taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge following the crash, according to the article.
