Below information provided by the Palatine Police Department:
The Palatine Police Department partnered with the Illinois Department of Transportation in their Labor Day Holiday Traffic Safety Crackdown. Through a traffic safety grant, IDOT supplied funds to increase the number of uniformed Palatine Police officers on the roadways enforcing traffic laws over the Labor Day Holiday.
The focus of this campaign was to get intoxicated motorists off the roads and make sure vehicle occupants are kept safe through the enforcement of seat belt use.
Through the holiday, extra Palatine Police uniformed officers hit the streets on dedicated traffic enforcement saturation patrols. These saturation patrols emphasized the hours of midnight to 3:00 am which have proven to be the deadliest on Illinois roadways.
