Palatine Police Issue 113 Tickets, Make 4 DUI Arrests

The Palatine Police department participated in a Memorial Day Holiday Traffic Safety Campaign.

The Palatine Police department issued 113 tickets and made 4 DUI arrests during the Memorial Day Holiday Traffic Safety Campaign.

Palatine received grant money from the Illinois Department of Transportation to increase the number of officers on roadways during the Memorial Day weekend, a press release states.

The police department used saturation patrols during the week of Memorial Day and also set up seat-belt enforcement zones. The zones identify drivers and passengers who are not wearing seat belts and make sure children are in child-safety restraint devices, the press release states.

  • Driving Under the Influence – 4 arrests
  • Zero Tolerance (driving with a blood alcohol content while under 21) - 1
  • Seat-belt Violations – 62 tickets
  • Child Safety Restraint Violations – 1 ticket
  • Speeding – 14 tickets
  • Suspended/Revoked/No Valid Drivers License – 3 arrests
  • No Insurance – 5 tickets
  • Drug Arrests – 3
  • Warrants – 1 arrest
  • Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor – 1 arrest
  • All Other Violations – 31 tickets
