Palatine Police Investigate Hit-and-Run Near Metra Station

The Palatine Police department is investigating a hit-and-run that occurred Saturday, Feb. 12.

A woman was injured in a hit-and-run accident that occurred in Palatine near the village's Metra Station downtown.

The incident occurred Saturday, Feb. 12 at about 1:15 a.m. Palatine Police said that the woman was crossing Smith Street in the 100 block heading east when she was struck by a passing vehicle.

Police said that witnesses described the vehicle as a silver Infiniti QX4 SUV. The vehicle turned onto Wilson Street and headed west after striking the pedestrian.

The name of the woman who was injured is not being released by the Palatine Police Department. The Palatine Fire Department said the woman's injuries were not thought to be life threatening and that she was transported to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.
