Palatine Police Blotter: Woman Steals Probiotic Pills; Criminal Damage, Theft Reports

Palatine police reports through March 23.

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Palatine Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination. 

Retail Theft

  • Police arrested Michelle Massarsky, 61, who lives in the 2000 north block of Rand Road, on March 18 for Retail Theft at Walgreens, 375 E. Dundee Road. Police allege Massarsky placed a bottle of probiotic pills (value $ 8.79) in her purse, paid for other items, and passed the last point of purchase.
  • Police arrested Emily Rose Morgan, 18, who lives in the 700 block of south Warren Avenue and and Schlobohm; Victoria Ross, 19, who lives in the 1200 block of north Williams Drive on March 22 for Retail Theft at Walmart, 1555 N. Rand Road. The subjects each placed make up items into their purses and passed the last point of purchase. Loss prevention reports a combined loss of $87.70.

Theft

  • Between Feb. 24 and March 23 in the 900 block of north Countryside Drive, place received a report that an unknown subject(s) broke into their storage unit, rifled through belongings, and took an in-car DVD player valued at $100.00. Entry was forced thru an adjoining unit that had been unlocked.

Criminal Damage to Vehicle

  • Between March 21 at 9 p.m. and March 22 at 10 a.m. in the 1400 block of north Winslowe Drive, police received a report that an unknown offender(s) smashed both front and rear windows (unknown value) of the victim’s 2003 Pontiac with an unknown object.
