Palatine Police Blotter: Theft of Motor Oil, Ink Cartridge, Bra, Various Spices

May 8

Tywana L. Johnson, 49, of Arlington Heights, was arrested for local ordinance retail theft at Wal-Mart, 1555 N. Rand Road at 8:09 p.m. Johnson attempted to take a black ink cartridge valued at $33.97, a pink bra valued at $8.68, motor oil valued at $11.83 and various spices at $5.88.

Janiece M. Montgomery, 22, of Palatine, was arrested for misdemeanor retail theft at Target, 679 E. Dundee Road. From March 27 until May 8, Montgomery had been an employee at the store when she conducted six “under-rings” totaling $194.56.

A 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee was burglarized sometime between May 12 at 6 p.m. and May 13 at 10:01 a.m. in the 1000 block of North Glenview Court. Taken was a black backpack with a laptop computer inside. It is unknown as to whether the vehicle was locked. A neighbor found the empty backpack in the yard the next day.

A 2002 Acura MDX was burglarized sometime between May 12 at 7 p.m. and May 13 at 8 a.m. in the 1000 block of N Glenview Court. The vehicle was left unlocked. Taken was a GPS valued at $100.

May 12

A 2006 Dodge Ram truck was burglarized sometime between May 11 at 8 p.m. and May 12 at 5 a.m. in the 900 block of North Maple Avenue. The vehicle was left unlocked. Taken was a GPS valued at $120, a set of golf clubs valued at $800 and three gold “Thomas Jefferson” dollars.

A Weber grill with a white handle was stolen from the 2000 block of N Abbeywood Drive sometime between May 12 at 3:30 p.m. and May 13 at 5:30 p.m. The grill was valued at $150.
