Palatine Police Blotter: St. Theresa Church Burglarized

The following information was provided by the Palatine Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Jan. 4

A silver 2000 Toyota 4Runner was burglarized sometime between 5 p.m. Jan. 4 and 1:10 p.m. Jan. 5 in the 2100 block of N. Bayside Drive. The front passenger window of the vehicle was shattered. Among the items take from the vehicle were a Valentine Radar Detector valued at $500, a bag containing a Sony lap top computer valued at $700, a Garmin GPS unit valued at $200 and a Nikon Digital camera.

, 455 N. Benton St., was burglarized sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Three microphones – one in the day chapel and two in the main church near the altar – were taken. The microphones were removed from their bases and the wires were cut. The total value of the microphones were $300.

A burgundy Hyundai Elantra was burglarized sometime between 8 p.m. Jan. 5 and 7 a.m. Jan. 6 in the 900 block of W. Gilbert Road. Taken from the vehicle was a purse with various financial cards. The trunk also was ajar.

Jan. 6

A silver 2011 Chrysler Town & Country was burglarized in the 1100 block of W. Hunting Drive sometime between 12:30 a.m. and 7 a.m. A leather Coach purse valued at $100 was taken. Inside the purse was $240 and various gift cards. The vehicle was unlocked in an open garage.

Jan. 7

A blue 1999 CR-V was burglarized sometime between 4 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. in the 400 block of E. Osage Lane. The owner of the vehicle stated that it is kept locked, but that there had been problems with the locks recently. Items taken include: CDs, a metal box with tools, a black leather bag with various vehicle related liquids, a shovel, a blanket, a phone charger and a Nike gym bag were taken.

Jan. 7

Someone attempted to break into a home in the 600 block of E. Delgado Drive sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. An object was used to try and pry the front door open but the deadbolt held. Also, a screen was removed from a window, but the window was locked.

Jan. 8

A man reported that someone had taken four golf clubs from his golf bag in the 1000 block of W. Whytecliff Road. The man said he often keeps his garage door open for conveinance sake. The man said a TaylorMade driver valued at $300, a Titleist Hybrid valued at $150, an exotic wood golf club valued at $250 and a putter valued at $75 were taken.

Jan. 10

Someone attempted to burglarize a Palatine Park District concession building in the 300 block of E. Palatine Road. The incident occurred between 3 p.m. Jan. 10 and 5 a.m. Jan. 11. A southside facing window was shattered and glass was found inside and outside the building. The window frame also was bent. Police said that it did not appear that entry was gained.

Jan. 12

Benjamin Von Feldt, 31, of Palatine was charged with retail theft. Police said Von Feldt passed the final point of sale at , 1555 N. Rand Road and had various DVDs and electronic accessories. Total value of the items was $173.43.
