Criminal Trespass to Vehicle

Unknown offender(s) entered an unlocked 2005 Pontiac sedan parked in the 800 block of W. Panorama Dr. sometime between Jan. 26 at 9:30 p.m. and Jan. 27 at 10:30 p.m. The victim reported that nothing was taken.

Criminal Damage to Vehicle

Unknown offender(s) punctured a tire on a 2008 Toyota Scion, and slashed the tires of a Ford truck and Jeep SUV, all parked in the 800 block of W. Panorama Dr. sometime between Jan. 26 at 7:30 p.m. and Jan. 28 at 7 a.m.  The value of damage on the Scion was $100, the Ford $900 and the Jeep $180.

Burglary to Motor Vehicle

Unknown offender(s) smashed in the driver’s side window of a 2007 Nissan SUV as it was parked in the 1700 block of N. Canterbury Ln. on Jan. 21 between 10:46 p.m and 10:48 p.m. Taken was a women’s winter coat valued at $75, holiday wrapping paper valued t $8 and the vehicle’s console also was broken.

Unknown offender(s) smashed the passenger side window of a 2006 Chevy SUV as it was parked in the 1100 block of N. Prairiebrook Dr. sometime between Jan. 26 at 4 p.m. and Jan. 27 at 4:05 p.m. A radio was removed along with a back pack containing a wallet and miscellaneous personal items.

Unknown offender(s) entered a 2007 Mazda Sedan as it was parked in the 800 block of Panorama Dr. on Jan. 28 between 2 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. The contents of the car were rummaged through and items were taken including a Garmin GPS valued at $600, a black 16 gb iPod and charger valued at $400 and personal documents.

Retail Theft

Taneka L. Mitchell, 36, of the 400 block of Oak Ave., Wood Dale, was charged with misdemeanor retail theft at Walmart, 1555 N. Rand Rd. on Jan. 27 at 12:30 a.m. Mitchell, who is an employee of Walmart took $42.02 of miscellaneous items past the last point of sale and was stopped by loss prevention.

DUI

Robert H. Thaller, 37, of the 0-100 block of S. Elizabeth was arrested in the 800 block of E. Palatine Rd. on Jan. 22 at 1:36 a.m. Thaller was charged with DUI, having a blood alcohol content of more than .08 and improper lane usage.

Esteban Venega, 52, of the 1300 block of N. Baldwin Ct. was arrested in the 1100 block of E. Dundee Rd. on Jan. 26 at 1:40 a.m. Venegas was charged with DUI, improper lane usage, improper turn and having an uninsured motor vehicle.

Leslie C. McLafferty, 46, of the 600 block of Portsmouth Ave., Westchester, was arrested at Rt. 14 and Glencoe on Jan. 26 at 3:23 a.m. McLafferty was charged with DUI, having an uninsured motor vehicle and driving without headlights when required.

Charles J. Penelli, 27, of the 1700 block of Ethan Glens Dr. was arrested at Route 14 and Palatine Rd. on Jan. 26 at 12:40 a.m. Penelli was charged with DUI, leaving the scene of property damage and having an uninsured motor vehicle.

Bridget M. Richter, 52, of the 1400 block of W. Middleburg, Naperville, was arrested at Route 14 and Palatine Rd. on Jan. 27 at 2:24 a.m. Richter was charged with DUI, having a blood alcohol content of more than .08, operating a motor vehicle with registration suspended for no insurance and driving without headlights when required.
