Palatine Police Blotter: Rocks Thrown at Windshield, Thief Shoves Employee

Theft

A victim left her wallet near a cashier station at Walmart, 1555 N. Rand Rd. on Aug. 7 between 8:30 a.m. and 8:38 a.m. and when she returned to retrieve it, it was gone. 

Two unknown subjects approached a victim while in the soup aisle at Walmart, 1555 N. Rand Rd. on Aug. 7 between 5:20 p.m. and 5:26 p.m. and engaged in conversation. When they left, the victim discovered their black cloth wallet was gone, which contained $50 in cash, and identification. The victim said the wallet was inside of an open purse sitting in the shopping cart. 

A victim reported leaving her Calvin Klein wallet inside of the bathroom on top of a changing table mount at McDonald's, 1576 N. Rand Rd. on Aug. 8 between 3:31 p.m. and 3:45 p.m. and forgetting to collect it when she left. When she realized it was missing, she contacted the restaurant but it had not been turned in. The wallet contained credit cards, identification and a social security card.

Criminal Damage to Property/Vandalism

Three unknown males were observed throwing rocks in the parking lot of Target, 649 E. Dundee Rd. on Aug. 6 at 2:17 p.m. The windshield of a 2010 Ford SUV was damaged by the offenders. Damage estimates were not immediately available. 

Attempted Residential Burglary

Unknown offender(s) removed a window screen and opened a window and interior shutter of a home in the 0-100 block of N. Forest Ave. on Aug. 7 between 12:01 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. Entry to the home was not gained. 

Retail Theft

Mark Ilogho, 21, of the 1400 block of S. Canal St., Chicago was arrested for misdemeanor theft on Aug. 7 at Dominick's Food store, 720 W. Euclid Ave. on Aug. 7 Ilgho attempted to leave the store without paying for $13.19 in merchandise. 

Jeffrey W. Huckeby, 44, of the 2200 block of W. Nichols, Arlington Heights, was arrested for misdemeanor retail theft and battery at Walmart, 1555 N. Rand Rd. on Aug. 9. Huckeby attempted to conceal headphones ($32.88) in his pants and leave the store without paying, but not before he shoved a store employee who tried to stop him. 

Joanna M. Reczek, 25, of the 1600 block of Lexington Dr., Arlington Heights, was arrested for misdemeanor retail theft at Walmart, 1555 N. Rand Rd. on Aug. 10. Reczek placed several items in her purse ($171.42) and walked passed the last point of sale without offering payment. 

David M. Badillo, 28, of the 2600 block of N. Bayside Dr. was arrested for misdemeanor retail theft on Aug. 10 at Walmart, 1555 N. Rand Rd. Badillo placed miscellaneous items ($16.54) in his backpack and passed the last point of sale without offering payment.
