Palatine Police Blotter: Porsche Stolen While Owner on Vacation

The following information was provided by the Palatine Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

April 24

Norma P. Padilla, 37, of Palatine, was charged with local ordinance retail theft after she took a bottle of Mederma Stretch Cream valued at $35.98, and a bottle of Mederma Advanced Cream valued at $28.97, from Wal-Mart, 1555 N. Rand Road sometime between 3:56 p.m. and 4:56 p.m.

A 1997 black Porsche was stolen sometime between April 18 at 6:30 p.m. and April 26 at 7:29 p.m. The car was parked in a parking lot in an apartment complex in the 1400 block of North Winslowe Drive. The car’s owner had returned from vacation when he noticed his car was missing from the spot where he parked it. Police confirmed that the vehicle was not towed away. The owner said no keys to the vehicle were missing.

Brian S. Denney, 37, of Palatine, was charged with speeding, failure to yield to an authorized emergency vehicle, uninsured motor vehicle, DUI and DUI blood-alcohol level above .08 after a traffic stop in the 2000 block of North Rand Road at 12:22 a.m.

Pablo Perez, 44, of Chicago, was charged with DUI after officers responded to a reckless driving complain. Perez was arrested in the 1000 block of East Dundee Road at 2:40 a.m.

April 27

Marcia Cashmore, 57, of Glen Ellyn, was charged with misdemeanor retail theft after she took 10 miscellaneous items valued at $74.04 from Wal-Mart, 1555 N. Rand Road sometime between 7:45 and 7:53 p.m.

April 28

Five cars were burglarized between April 27 at 3:40 p.m. and April 28 at 8:55 a.m. Three of the burgarlies occurred between the 200 and 1100 block of Old Bridge Road. The other two occurred between the 600 and 700 block of Balsam Lane. All vehicles were left unlocked.

  • a Buick Lucerne was a Magellan GPS valued at $300.
  • a Honda Odyssey was a Canon Powershot camera valued at $300.
  • a Scion was a Garmin GPS Nova valued at $300 and a power converter cord valued at $20.
  • a Ford Focus was a brown wallet with $40 in money and three credit cards.

Jennifer A. Meyer, 47, of Vernon Hills, was charged with driving without headlights when required, DUI and DUI blood-alcohol level above .08 after a traffic stop at Dundee Road and Peppertree Drive at 2:53 a.m.
