Palatine Police Blotter: Liquor Store Burglary, Drugs, DUI

The Palatine Police Department's arrest blotter through Dec. 22.

Burglary to Motor Vehicle

  • Between 7 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. on Dec. 18, an unknown offender(s) entered and ransacked an unlocked gray 2007 Nissan van in a parking lot in the 1900 north block of Cambridge Court. Nothing was reported missing.
  • Between 10:30 p.m. on Dec. 18 and 11:40 a.m. on Dec. 19, unknown offender(s) entered an unlocked 2005 Jeep SUV in the 1200 north block of Sherwood Lane and removed a Motorola Bluetooth device valued at $100 from the visor, and a Garmin GPS valued at $80 from the center console.
  • Between 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 18 and 6:30 a.m. on Dec. 19, unknown offender(s) entered a victim’s unlocked black 2010 Volkswagen sedan in the 1600 west block of Edgewater Lane and removed $15 from the vehicle. The vehicle was parked in a residential driveway, and the interior was left in disarray.

Commerical Burglary

  • On Dec. 20, an unknown offender forced entry to Extra Value Liquor at 1348 N. Rand Rd. The offender gained entry by compromising the lock on the front door. Once inside the offender removed a small cigar box containing $150 from the front counter area. This case is under investigation.

Drugs

  • Sam A. Dimitri, 22, of the 0-100 west block of Garden Avenue, was arrested at 8:33 p.m. on Dec. 22 at King Henry Court near Smith Street. Charges included misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.

DUI

  • Gerardo J., Ocampo, 57, of the 6900 block of Olympic Drive, Bridgeview, was arrested at 12:45 a.m. on Dec. 21 at a roadside safety checkpoint in 1200 west block of Algonquin Road. Charges included DUI, DUI with BAC over .08 and driving without headlights when required.
