Palatine Police Blotter: House Hit With Eggs, BBQ Sauce

Feb. 12
Someone threw rocks through three windows of an apartment building in the 1100 block of E. Nichols Road. The incident occurred between 10:37 p.m. and 10:47 p.m. Several individuals wearing dark sweatshirts with hoods were seen running away.

A blue 1999 Ford minivan was burglarized sometime between 9 p.m. Feb. 14 and 8 a.m. Feb. 15 in the 1300 block of E. Ports O Call. The vehicle's stereo was taken from the dash.

Richard Spencer, 41, of Palatine, was charged with felony retail theft after taking about $245 worth of DVDs of various TV shows from Walmart, 1555 N. Rand Road, and leaving without paying. Palatine Police stopped Spencer's vehicle based on a description from Walmart. The DVDs were found in the vehicle.
Feb. 16
A theft occurred between 5:45 p.m. and 6 p.m. at a business in the 200 block of W. Dundee Road. A person said they left their wallet on a counter. Later they called the business to inquire about the wallet but it was missing. Inside the pink and gold wallet was a driver's license, Social Security card, various credit cards and $50.
Feb. 17
Erin A. Cardona, 27, of Mundelein, was charged with felony DUI, driving on a suspended license and improper lane usage after a traffic stop at 1:02 a.m. in the 1900 block of N. Baldwin Road.
Feb. 18
A home in the 100 block of S. Clyde Street was vandalized sometime between 10:30 p.m. Feb. 18 and 8:45 p.m. Feb. 19. Someone threw eggs and BBQ sauce on the home.
Feb. 18
A black Blackhawks tire cover was taken from a Jeep Liberty that was parked in a driveway in the 300 block of north Benton Street. The incident occurred between 9:15 p.m. and midnight.
