Palatine Police Blotter: DUI, Burglary to Vehicles, Criminal Damage

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Palatine Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

DUI
  • Samuel B. Robles, 23, of the 100 south block Dryden Pl., Arlington Heights, was arrested at 3:35 a.m. on Nov. 11  near the intersection of Northwest Highway and Route 53. He was charged with DUI, DUI with a BAC over .08, improper parking on the roadway, illegal transportation of alcohol and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Fernando Zarate Jr., 19, of the 500 block of Piper Ln., Prospect Heights, was arrested at 4:47 a.m. on Nov. 9 in the 1300 east block of Dundee Road. He was charged with aggravated DUI, driving on a revoked drivers license and possession of a stolen vehicle.

Burglary to Vehicle

  • Between midnight and 6 a.m. on Nov. 11 in the 400 north block of Smith Street, unknown offender(s) removed approximately $2 in change from an unlocked red 2002 Jeep SUV. The vehicle was parked in a driveway at the time of the burglary.
  • Between 5:30 p.m. Nov. 3 and 7:30 a.m. Nov. 4, in the 1100 east block of Chesapeake Lane, unknown offender(s) removed $20 and a blue hooded sweatshirt from an unlocked 2006 Volvo. The vehicle was parked in a driveway at the time of the burglary.

Attempted Burglary

  • Between 6 p.m. Nov. 4 and 2 p.m. Nov. 6, in the 200 north block of Bothwell Street, unknown offenders smashed a basement storage room window of an apartment building to gain entry. Nothing was reported missing.

Criminal Damage

  • Between 5 p.m. Nov. 8 and 9 a.m. Nov. 11, in a parking lot of the Palatine Village Hall at 200 E. Wood St., unknown offender(s) damaged the windows on two village-owned vehicles causing an unknown amount of damage.
  • At approximately 10:20 p.m. on Nov. 5, in the 700 east block of Whispering Oaks Drive, an unknown offender threw a rock through a homeowner's bedroom window causing an unknown amount of damage.
  • Between 8 p.m. Nov. 5 and 12:25 a.m. Nov. 6, in the 1400 north block of Winslowe Drive, unknown offender(s) damaged three windows on a white Pontiac Bonneville causing an unknown amount of damage.
