Palatine Police Blotter: Decorative Wood Balls Taken

The following information was taken from Palatine Police reports:

February

Enrico Pecson, 48, Palatine, was charged with retail theft after he allegedly took a pack of Gillette razors valued at $22 and a pack of Eclipse gum valued at about $2 from at Walmart, 1555 N. Rand Rd.

A red 1998 Ford  was burglarized sometime between noon Feb. 9 ad 7:45 a.m. Feb. 10 in the 100 block of Baybrook Drive. The front passenger window was smashed and a in-dash JVC stereo valued at $300 was taken.

A beige 1997 Nissan Altima was burglarized sometime between 7 p.m. Feb. 9 and 7:40 a.m. Feb. 10 in the 100 block of Baybrook Drive. The passenger side window was smashed. A Sony CD car stereo faceplate and a spare key were taken.

Feb. 9

Doreen J. Filas, 53, Buffalo Grove, was charged with retail theft after she allegedly removed two decorative wood balls from a home decorating box and placed them in her purse. She also allegedly placed a package of Tostitos Salsa and cheese in the purse. The items were valued at $23. The incident occurred at Walmart, 1555 N. Rand Rd.

Feb. 9

Delmar Frazier, 25, Chicago, was charged with local ordinance possession of cannabis after police found less than one gram of marijuana in a cigar. The incident occurred in the 700 block of Rand Grove Lane.

Feb. 12

A 1992 Oldsmobile Cutlass was burglarized in the 600 block of S. Benton Court sometime between 10 p.m. Feb. 12 and noon Feb. 13. A Magellan GPS unit valued at $100 was taken. The vehicle was unlocked.

Feb. 12

A gray 2010 Volkswagen was burglarized in the 400 block of N. Cambridge Drive sometime between 6 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Feb. 12. The vehicle was unlocked. Taken was a garage door opener and a Maglite flashlight.
