Palatine Police Blotter: Several Car Burglaries Investigated

The following information was provided by the Palatine Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

July 20

A tan 1999 Toyota van had all four of its tires slashed and its gas door damaged sometime between 11:30 p.m. July 20 and 7:30 a.m. July 21.

A 2002 Chevy Surbuban had its driver's side window smashed at , 1760 N. Hicks Rd. Taken from the vehicle was an iPad, an iPhone and a purse.

A 2004 Chrysler Pacifica had its driver's side window smashed in the parking lot of the , 929 E. Palatine Rd. The incident occurred between 5:25 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. A gray leather purse, an iPad, and a wallet was taken from the vehicle.

Also, a 2005 Chrysler 300 had its passenger side window smashed during the same time frame at the same location, but nothing was taken.

July 21

The following four incidents occurred at , 1760 N. Hicks Rd., between 11 a.m. and 11:20 a.m.:

  • A white 2011 Nissan Murano had is passenger side window smashed. Taken from the vehicle was a tennis racket valued at $150, a black leather purse valued at $400, Oakley sunglasses valued at $250, a wallet valued at $300 and various credit cards.
  • A 2002 GMC Envoy had its passenger side window smashed. Taken from the vehicle was a purse valued at $800, a black leather wallet valued at $150 and about $60 in cash.
  • A 2002 Ford Escape had its passenger side window smashed. Taken from the vehicle was a purse valued at $500 and an HP laptop computer valued at $1,500.
  • A 2010 Ford Flex had its rear passenger side window smashed. Taken from the vehicle was a Coach purse valued at $600 and various cosmetics valued at $100.
