Aug. 6
William J. Kozlowski, 27, of Palatine was charged with DUI, DUI blood-alcohol level above .08, improper lane use and unsafe tires.

Patrick J. Hoeft, 27, of Chicago, was charged with DUI, DUI blood-alcohol level above .08, no valid insurance, improper lane use, and driving without headlights when required.

A blue 2007 Nissan Altima was burglarized in the 900 block of E. Kenilworth Avenue sometime between 4 p.m. Aug. 9 and 11 a.m. Aug. 12. Taken from the vehicle was a Garmin GPS unit valued at $250 and an Apple iPod Nano valued at $150. The vehicle was unlocked at the time.

David Mogill, 23, of Niles, was charged with DUI blood-alcohol level above .08, driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, and disobeying a traffic control device.
Aug. 10
A red 2007 Volkswagen Eos was burglarized in the 1200 block of N. Knollwood Drive sometime between 10:30 p.m. Aug. 10 and 7:45 a.m. Aug. 11. Taken was an Apple iPod touch valued at $200, a TomTom GPS unit valued at $300 and about $100 in cash. The vehicle was unlocked at the time.

A silver 2008 Toyota Sienna was burglarized in the 100 block of S. Baybrook Drive sometime between 4 p.m. Aug. 10 and 11 a.m. Aug. 11. Taken was a Nintendo DS gaming system valued at $150 and a 4-gig iPod valued at $150. The vehicle was unlocked at the time.

A green 2001 Ford Explorer was burglarized in the 1400 block of Evergreen Drive sometime between 6:30 p.m. Aug. 10 and 6:30 a.m. Aug. 11. Taken was a Magellan GPS unit valued at $100. The vehicle was unlocked at the time.

A 2008 Kia Optima was burglarized in the 1100 block of Sterling Avenue sometime between 11 p.m. Aug. 10 and 9 a.m. Aug. 11. Taken was a Magellan RoadMate GPS unit valued at $200, a Cobra radar detector valued at $60, 30 to 40 CDs valued at $100. There also was a scratch on the door frame. A tool was used to pry open the vehicle's locked door.

A blue 2009 Dodge Ram pickup was burglarized in the 2000 block of N. Coach Road sometime between 7:30 p.m. Aug. 11 and 4:55 a.m. Aug. 12. Taken was a leather wallet valued at $50, about $180 in cash, and various ID and credit cards. The vehicle was unlocked at the time.
Aug. 14
A white 2010 Toyota Highlander was burglarized in the parking lot of , 1400 W. Northwest Highway sometime between 12:45 p.m. Aug. 14 and 1:58 p.m. Aug. 14. The rear passenger side window of the vehicle was smashed and a purse was taken.
