Palatine Police Blotter: Car, $12,700 Worth of Items Stolen from Garage

The following information was provided by the Palatine Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

July 27, 2012 

A detached garage on a home in the 700 block of West Center Road was burglarized sometime between 1 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. The entrance door was pried open and the suspect(s) unplugged the electric garage door opener to open it manually. Taken was a forest green 1997 Acura Integrid with an unknown value, 15 inch wheels valued at $1500, an Acura transmission valued at $2,500, a custom motor valued at $5,000, Honda seats valued at $1,000, a suspension valued at $1,500, MoMo steering wheel valued at $400, a fiberglass hood valued at $300, racing tires valued at $500 and the cost of the door damaged is $500.

Parrish E. Bartz, 42, of Palatine, was charged with improper lane usage, DUI and DUI BAC over .08 after a traffic stop at westbound Dundee Road between Baldwin and Rand roads a 12:15 a.m.

A home in the 300 block of North Westminster Drive was burglarized sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 6:40 p.m. The front door was forced open. Taken was miscellaneous jewelry and designer handbags.

A 2004 Chrysler Town and Country minivan in the 400 block of West Illinois Avenue was burglarized sometime between 6:10 p.m. and 7:05 p.m. The vehicle was locked and the rear driver’s side window was shattered. Taken was a Brighton purse valued at $260, a Brighton wallet valued at $150, Brighton sunglasses valued at $100, an iPad valued at $500 and various credit cards.

Aug. 5, 2012

A 2005 Jeep Cherokee was burglarized in the 100 block of South Roselle Road sometime between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The vehicle was locked and the passenger side rear window was shattered. Taken was a pair of prescription sunglasses, a purse, miscellaneous credit cards and an Illinois driver’s license.
