Palatine Police Blotter: Booze Taken From Dominick's

The following information was provided by the Palatine Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Sept. 15

Jason W. Moore, 18, of Palatine was charged with two counts of retail theft for incidents that occurred on Sept. 15 and Sept. 16.

Police said that security at , 615 E. Dundee Rd., noticed on Sept. 16 that a retail theft had occurred while viewing video from Sept. 15. In the video a person left the store with several bottles of alcohol valued at $457.

While police were taking the report on Sept. 16 about the incident from the the previous day, police received a 9-1-1 that the same individual was in the store, loading a shopping cart with items.

Police arrested Moore. In the second incident, police said Moore had taken three bottles of Patròn tequila, one bottle of Moet, and one bottle of Jose Cuervo tequila. Police said Moore also had taken toilet paper and an 8-ounce package of Sargento cheese. The value of these items was $252.

Sept. 17

Norberto Granados, 24, of Palatine, was charged with DUI, no valid driver's license and having an expired registration after a traffic stop at 1:57 a.m. near the intersection of Dundee Road and Frontage Road.

Sept. 17

Joseph Anthony Gigac, 25, of Rolling Meadows, was charged with speeding and DUI after a traffic stop at 8:35 p.m. in the 1000 block of E. Dundee Road.

Sept. 18

A red 1994 Honda Civic was burglarized in the 4000 block of N. Bayside Drive sometime between 8:30 p.m. and 9:20 p.m. The driver's side window of the vehicle was smashed. Taken from the vehicle was an Apple iPod valued at $300, a Garmin GPS unit valued at $250 and a Sony car stereo valued at $147.
