Palatine Police Blotter: Rings Stolen From Jewelry Box

The following information was provided by the Palatine Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

March 16

Amberly Cencula, 24, of Palatine, was charged with disobeying a traffic-control device and driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs after a traffic stop near Plum Grove Road and Palatine Road at 1:29 a.m. The suspected drug was marijuana.

Daniel A. Pieper, 27, of Palatine, was charged with DUI, and DUI with a blood-alcohol content of .08 or greater, at a roadside safety checkpoint in the 1200 block of West Algonquin Road at 2:12 a.m.

March 18

Matthew J. Berrey, 29, of Hoffman Estates, was charged with DUI and disobeying a traffic-control device after a traffic stop near Palatine and Plum Grove roads at 2:41 a.m.

March 20

Shahan M. Loughran, 45, of Rolling Meadows, was charged with DUI and driving without mandatory insurance on private property after police responded to a crash investigation in the 400 block of West Wood Street at 9:42 p.m.

March 24

A home in the 900 block of West Wood Street was burglarized between 5 p.m. March 24 and 6:15 p.m. March 25. Taken were four rings valued at $400 from a jewelry box on a dresser in the master bedroom. The mode of entry was possibly an unlocked sliding door.

William J. Lamm, 52, of Hoffman Estates, was charged with misdemeanor retail theft after taking a Sony home theater system from , 1555 N. Rand Road, and leaving without paying. The item was valued at $198.

March 25

A 1994 Honda VTEC had its passenger window broken between March 21 and 11 a.m. March 25 in a parking lot in the 1400 block of Winslowe Drive. Taken from the vehicle was a Bravo CD player with an unknown value.
