Palatine Deputy Chief Al Stoeckel was officially promoted to Police Chief at Monday night's Village Council meeting.
Chief Stoeckel has served in the Palatine Police Department since 1985, having most recently held the rank as Deputy Chief of Operations since 2009.
Prior to his appointment as Deputy Chief, he has served the Department in a variety of positions including Crime Scene Technician, Investigations, Field Training Supervisor, and Neighborhood Based Policing Commander.
