Palatine Man Killed in Head-On Collision, Woman Charged In Crash
46-year-old Anthony B. Calhoun of Palatine in a head-on collision in Will County on Friday, Aug. 31. The other driver involved was charged with reckless homicide, her first court hearing in Sept. 4.
A drunken driver in a pick-up truck crossed the centerline, into oncoming traffic and killing a man from Palatine, according to police.
The driver of the sedan, 46-year-old Anthony B. Calhoun, was pronounced dead at the scene. about a quarter mile east of the Interstate 55 interchange in Will County around 4 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 31.
The driver of the pick-up truck of Coal City sustained non-life threatening injuries. Unland now is in the Will County Jail being held on a $20,000 bond.

According to police, Unland was charged with and more charges are pending. The case is being reviewed by the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office. The Joliet Patch reports, of aggravated driving under the influence, driving under the influence, the illegal transportation of alcohol and improper lane use.
Unland's next court date is Tuesday, Sept. 4.
