Palatine Crime: Retail Theft, Burglary, DUI and More

The Palatine Police Department releases crime alerts weekly, and asks for the public's help by reporting information you may have confidentially.

Retail Theft

At 12:59 p.m., Sept. 28, a juvenile was charged with retail theft at the Walmart at 1555 N. Rand. The offender took five Xbox video games from a shelf, placed them in a backpack and exited the store. The theft was observed by a loss prevention employee.

Driving Under the Influence

Tina Kremser, 37, of the 1500 block of Heather Ct., Wheeling, was charged on Sept. 29, at 2:12 a.m. with driving under the influence and failure to signal.

Roy W. Brodersen, 71, of the 1200 block of Sand Castle, Sanibel, Fl, was charged at 12:26 a.m., Sept. 28, with driving under the influence, blood alcohol level over .08, and improper lane usage.

Theft

Some time between 11 a.m., Sept. 23, and 4:40 p.m., Sept. 26, someone used force to break a lock off of a storage locker in the 0 to 100 block of Dundee Quarter. It is unknown what was taken.

Criminal Damage to Property

Some time between 1:30 a.m. and 2 a.m., Sept. 29, someone smashed out two sets of entry door windows in the 1900 block of North Green Lane. A total of four windows were smashed via an unknown means.

Burglary to Motor Vehicle

 

Some time between 10 p.m., Sept. 23, and 10:05 a.m., Sept. 24, someone entered a 2001 Audi and removed an iPad. The vehicle was parked at the time in the 800 block of W. Panorama and was believed to be locked, but there were no signs of forced entry.
