Palatine Storm Coverage: Check Here for Updates

A line of thunderstorms rolled through Palatine this morning with damaging winds.

Palatine is cleaning up after an early morning storm produced damaging winds, uprooting trees and scattering debris throughout the village.

The downed branches were causing scattered power outages throughout the village.

The storm took out a parkway tree in front of Fran Black's home near Quentin Road and Dorset Avenue.

"It just came right out of the ground," said Black, who has lived in the home for more than 18 years. "How did it hit just that tree?"

Black said she called the village first thing Monday morning and the public works department quickly arrived and moved the tree off of Dorset Avenue.
