National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day April 28

Citizens are invited to drop off unwanted prescription medications at the Palatine Police Department, 595 N. Hicks Road.

The Palatine Police Department is partnering with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) by participating in the National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day Project.  The project is anonymous, free and provides citizens a safe avenue to get rid of unwanted prescription medications.

On Saturday April 28  from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., citizens are invited  to stop by the Palatine Police Department, located at 595 N. Hicks Road, Palatine, to discard their unwanted prescription medications.  The collection container is located in the front lobby of the police department.  If you plan on bringing medication, we ask that you follow two easy rules:

  • Place ALL medication containers inside clear zip-lock bags.
  • No liquid products, intravenous solutions or syringes will be accepted.

Please help the help you make your home a safer place, drop-off unwanted, unused and/or expired medications.
