Man Steals Vases from Graves, Prosecutors Say

Dozens of vases were taken from graves located at the border of Arlington Heights and Palatine. Bail was set at $75,000 Friday for the man accused of the thefts.

Vincent Peterson of Bensenville was charged with felony theft for stealing vases from grave markers in the Randhill and Shalom Memorial Park cemeteries, the Chicago Tribune reports. 

The two final resting places are located adjacent to one another in unincorporated Cook County, in the 1700 block of W. Rand Road at the border of Palatine and Arlington Heights. 

The 24-year-old is a former employee of the cemetery, the Chicago Tribune reports, and bail was set at $75,000 Friday for the theft of dozens of vases valued at $300 each.
