Kirk School Broken Into, Blood Found at Scene

Someone broke into Kirk School over the weekend by breaking three windows.

Palatine Police are investigating a break-in at that occurred over the weekend.

Someone broke three small windows at the school and entered it sometime between Friday, May 13 and Saturday, May 14. Police said the individual apparently was cut during the break-in as blood was found.

"The offender entered the building and appears to have been confined to the cafeteria," Palatine Police Commander Kurt Schroeder said.

Schroeder said that it did not appear that anything was taken from the school and nothing other than the three windows appears to have been damaged.

Kirk School is part of the Northwest Suburban Special Education Organization. It serves students with handicaps and learning disabilities. The public school school has about 182 students.
