Jilted Lover Faces Felony Home Invasion in Knife Attack

David L. Price, 22, is accused of breaking through the front door of his ex-girlfriend's house and injuring her boyfriend.

A 22-year-old man from Germantown, Wis., faces charges after police said he broke into a Palatine woman’s home and attacked another man April 9.

David L. Price, 22, is accused of breaking through the front door of his ex-girlfriend’s house in the 200 block of Benton Street and cutting her boyfriend’s finger with a pocket knife. Palatine police were called to the house on reports of a physical altercation at 10:33 p.m. Monday.

Police said Price’s ex-girlfriend was in her home spending time with her boyfriend when Price forcibly entered her house with a weapon. After cutting the man’s hand, Price eventually was subdued by the woman’s boyfriend and another man in the home.

Price was seen running to his car, which was parked on the street when police arrived, according to reports.

Price was charged with felony home invasion, a Class X felony, and was released on a $50,000 bond. If convicted, he could be sentenced to from six to 30 years in prison.
