Inverness Police Sifting Through Surveillance Video in Friday Shooting, Robbery

A 63-year-old man was shot, and an an undisclosed amount of money was taken from an Inverness residence Friday night. Police are currently reviewing surveillance footage and the investigation continues.

Inverness Police are currently reviewing video surveillance footage from a guardhouse at the entrance of Inverness on the Pond, the subdivision where a shooting and robbery occurred Friday night. 

Officials with the Inverness Police Department said in addition to a 63-year-old man being shot, an undisclosed amount of cash also was taken from the single-family home in the 100 block of Crichton Lane. 

The victim, who is the homeowner's boyfriend, sustained non-life threatening injuries and is currently recovering. 

The couple came back to the home Friday night, and after 10 p.m., the boyfriend was confronted by one of two men in the home, and shot in the abdomen. 

Before they fled on foot, an undetermined amount of money was taken from the residence, police officials said. 

Inverness Police are seeking assistance from the public in identifying the two subjects who remain at-large:

Suspect #1 (shooter): White male, 5’8”, 200 lbs. 50-55 years of age, grey hair

Suspect #2: White male, 5’10” thin

The shooting remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Inverness Police Department at 847-358-7766.
