Blotter: Woman Steals 6-Pack of Beer; Landscape Paver Thrown at Car Window

The Palatine Police Department's arrest blotter through April 1.

The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Palatine Police Department. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

Retail Theft    

Szymanowicz, Hanna, a 51 year old female residing in the 1300 block of N. Turtle Creek Drive, was arrested for retail theft on 3-29-14, at the Walmart located at 1555 N. Rand Rd. The subject was observed by Loss Prevention to pick up a six pack of beer and pass the last point of sale without payment.

Conrad, Abigail H., a 26 year old female, and Alverez, Alexandria A., a 21 year old female, both residing in the 100 block of S. Harrison Ct. were arrested for retail theft on 3-29-14 at the Walmart located at 1555 N. Rand Road. Loss Prevention observed Conrad pick up a pack of press on nails (value $5.97) and hand them to Alverez, who placed them in her pants pocket. The two women paid for other items, then passed the last point of sale without payment for the nails.

DUI

Guerrero, Roman, a 33 year old male residing in the 1200 block of E. Woodbury Lane, was arrested on 3-29-14 at 0126 hours at e/b N. Rand Rd. from Frontage Rd. Charges included DUI, Improper Turn, Improper Lane Usage (2 counts), disobeyed traffic control signal- red light, operating uninsured motor vehicle, and no valid drivers license.

Criminal Trespass to Vehicle

On 03-26-14 at approximately 0352 hours in the 400 block of N. Stephen Dr., the victim reported that they observed a male subject wearing a ski mask open the door to their unlocked 2005 Pontiac 4-door. The victim yelled out that they were calling police and the subject fled the area on foot. Nothing was taken.

Criminal Damage to Vehicle

Between 03-27-14 1900 hours and 03-28-14 0500 hours in the 1700 block of N. Rose Av., the victim reported an unknown subject threw a landscaping paver through the rear window to their 2002 Volkswagen. No entry was made to the vehicle, and the damage total is unknown.
