$30,000 Test Meter Taken, Wheel Barrel and Pick Ax

Car Burglary and Criminal Damage

A victim reported his white 2011 Dodge pickup was damaged burglarized while parked at the Holiday Inn Express, 1550 E. Dundee Rd. sometime between Nov. 15 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 16 at 7:30 a.m. The rear driver's side window was shattered, and taken was a black leather case that contained a fiber optic test meter, valued at $30,000. 

A victim reported his silver 2001 Buick Sedan was damaged and burglarized sometime between Nov. 14 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 15 at 3 p.m. while it was parked in a lot in the 400 block of E. Osage Ln. A dentalong with several scratch marks with orange paint transfer were observed. Taken was a Tom Tom GPS, a yellow Sony Walkman and two pairs of sunglasses. The items [able to estimated] are valued at $130.

A victim reported his black 2002 Ford pickup was damaged and items stolen sometime between Nov. 18 at 10 p.m. and Nov. 19 at 11:30 p.m. in the 1800 block of N. Green Lane North. A group of males reportedly made comments toward the victim and his family when they exited the car prior to them entering their residence for the evening. The next morning, both front windows were smashed out, and taken was a Tom Tom GPS valued at $200 and large bag of change also valued at $200. 

Theft

A victim living in the 200 block of W. Pleasant Hill Blvd. reported that on Nov. 16 between 11:50 p.m. and midnight, a number of items were stolen from the side yard. They included a green wheel barrel, and a pick ax and shovel both with fiber glass handles. A neighbor reported observing an SUV pulling a trailer, a person collecting the items and loading them into the vehicle before police were called. The stolen items are valued at $300. 

Retail theft

On November 15 at 12:44 p.m. a female subject was caught by loss prevention at WalMart, 1555 N. Rand Rd. leaving the store without paying for numerous items. Jamie L. McNeany of the 2300 block of Rolling Ridge Ln., Lindenhurst, was charged with misdemeanor theft for stealing a wide range of make-up valued at $456. 

Driving Under the Influence 

Brandon L. Bretl, 28, of the 0-100 block of Heatherlea was stopped by police on Nov. 17 at Smith and Cunningham and charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage.
