$1.75 Million in Suspected Crystal Meth Found During Traffic Stop

Police arrest Minnesota man on East Algonquin Road in Arlington Heights.

Twenty-five pounds of what police believe is crystal meth was found during an evening traffic stop in Arlington Heights on Saturday, according to the Cook County sheriff's police.

A 22-year-old Minneapolis man is charged with felony narcotics 
possession with intent to deliver.

At about 5:50 p.m. on Saturday, a deputy stopped a white, 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe in the 200 block of East Algonquin Road after witness a traffic violation.
Roberto Ortiz allowed officers to search his vehicle. 

Officers found suspected crystal methamphetamine under the front driver seat and in a box located in the back of the vehicle. About 25 pounds, with an estimated street value of $1.75 million — was found. Ortiz is scheduled to appear in court today.
