PHS Pirate Boosters Pirate Pact Forms Due September 5

There are many changes involved in the transition from junior high to high school. Moving from PTA to the Boosters, having your children in school with a variety of new friends you might not know, and letting your children become more responsible as they travel through the high school experience to adulthood.

Another change at Palatine High School is the transition from a traditional directory of students and contact information to the Pirate Pact Parent Directory--a document that constitutes an agreement made by the parents listed within the pages. The goal of the Pirate Pact Parent Directory is to provide parents with a resource to help keep students safe and drug/alcohol free.

In order to be listed in this document parents must sign the following pledge:"I pledge to other parents of students in PALATINE HIGH SCHOOL that I will do my utmost to insure that alcohol and other drugs will not be available at any social gatherings of youths in my home. Furthermore, I want other parents, whenever their child is coming to my home for a social gathering, to call me to confirm that I will be home to follow through on this pledge. I do not want any alcoholic beverages or drugs served to my underage children. I want to be informed if my children are seen intoxicated or under the influence of drugs."

While the document is produced and distributed by the PHS Pirate Booster Club, parents do not need to be members of the Boosters in order to be listed. Forms were distributed in back to school mailings sent by both the school and the Booster Club to students' homes. The form can also be downloaded from the Booster Club website: http://phspirateboosters.com/site/pirate-pact/

Forms are due September 5 in order to insure inclusion in the directory, and should be mailed to Palatine High School, Pirate Booster Club/Parent Pact, 1111 N. Rohlwing Road, Palatine, IL 60074-3777. It is the committee's goal to distribute the directory prior to Homecoming.
