With nearly all public agencies facing challenges brought on by reduced funding, Palatine Park District recently hosted representatives from local government agencies to share both challenges and best practices. This Intergovernmental Dinner was held the evening of Thursday, June 13 at Falcon Park Recreation Center.

Organizations with representatives at the dinner included Harper College, Hoffman Estates Park District, Palatine Park District, Palatine Public Library District, Palatine Township, Salt Creek Park District, and Village of Palatine. According to Mike Clark, Executive Director at Palatine Park District, “Palatine Park District was thrilled to host the dinner and provide an opportunity for elected officials and staff to network and become better informed of what each organization provides to the community. It was of great value to everyone, but especially newly elected board members, to learn more about the services provided to the community and commitment to intergovernmental cooperation.”

The mission of Palatine Park District is to provide a variety of safe, enjoyable and affordable parks and recreation facilities and activities that will enhance the quality of life by promoting good health and well-being for all residents and visitors of the Palatine Park District.
