Palatine Park District Presents Free Concert Series

Palatine Park District presents Free Friday Lunch Specials and Free 4th Thursday Concerts this summer at Towne Square.

Palatine Park District presents a wide variety of free musical entertainment all summer long at Towne Square, located at the corner of Palatine Road and Smith Street in Palatine.

Palatine Park District brings back the tropical sounds of summer with two Friday Lunch Specials. These hour long concerts are offered free to the community.

On Friday, July 13, enjoy an amazing lunchtime performance by Barefoot Hawaiians.  For over 30 years this professional Polynesian-style performing troupe has thrilled audiences of all ages with their dynamic dances, dramatic drumming, beautifully vibrant costumes, and informative displays of island customs.

On Friday, August 10, Mr. Myers returns to Towne Square blending the tropical sounds of Soca and Calypso with the rhythms of Reggae and Ska.  Their show also includes remakes of your favorite rock and roll and R&B classics.

Friday Lunch Specials are held at Towne Square, located at the corner of Palatine Road and Smith Street; shows begin at noon and are approximately one hour long. Bring a lawn chair and your lunch, or grab some takeout from a nearby restaurant.

Palatine Park District also presents the 4th Thursday Concert Series, sponsored this year by TCF Bank. The first concert in the series features Palatine’s own Allegro Adult Choir presenting “A Night at the Cabaret” on Thursday, May 24. Under the artistic direction of Brent Boyens, this warm hearted group loves to share their music with audiences of all ages.  Take a step back in time with It’s a Grand Night for Singing, When I Fall In Love, and I’ve Got You Under My Skin.

On Thursday, June 28, Springhill Rogue will perform. This indie/rock/pop band is based in the Northwest Suburbs.  Founding members Dan Dobervich and Nahum Smith bring their wide-ranging musical backgrounds to the project, blending structured song writing with raw improvisation.

Harper College Jazz Ensemble will be the featured group on Thursday, July 26. Enjoy big band jazz featuring exceptionally talented vocalists and some amazing improvisation.

Fourth Thursday performances are held at Towne Square, located at the corner of Palatine Road and Smith Street.  Performances begin at 6:30pm and are approximately one hour long. Bring a lawn chair and a picnic dinner, or grab some takeout from a nearby restaurant.  Please note there are no restroom facilities available.
