Palatine Park District Presents Family Friendly Events in July

Palatine Park District presents three great kid and family friendly events: Tween Pool Party, Arts in the Park and Kids Rule Wednesday Night.

Palatine Park District will be presenting three special events in July designed for children and families.

The annual Tween Pool Party will be held on Friday, July 20 from 8:00pm to 10:00pm. This event provides poolside fun including swimming and music for ages 10 to 15 at Birchwood Pool, 435 W. Illinois Avenue, Palatine. The fee is $5 in advance or $8 at the door. Registration can be done online at www.palatineparks.org or in person at Community Center, Birchwood, or Falcon Park. Once patrons are admitted to the event, they cannot leave and return. In the event of inclement weather or pool closure during the event, activities will be moved indoors to the gym at Birchwood.

Arts in the Park will be held on July 21. This free summer event is planned by Northwest Special Recreation Association and the Palatine Park District. The entire family is invited to the Fred P. Hall Amphitheater and Community Park for a day of performing and visual arts from 10am to 2pm on Saturday, July 21. Activities will include art projects and arts performances including guitarist Steven Vazquez who will be performing at 11am. He is a Chicago Artists International Program award recipient who has studied around the world.  To pre-register for Arts in the Park, call 847-392-2848. On-site registration will also be accepted at the event.

The last time the kids ruled at Falcon, on June 27, games included dodgeball, kickball, capture the flag, and team relays for prizes. Watch for similar games and some new ones at this month’s event. The fee is $1 for pre-registration, or $3 at the door.  Pizza, pop, popcorn and candy are also available for purchase at the event.
