Palatine Park District Participates in Illinois Girls Lacrosse Association League

Girls Fall Lacrosse League begins September 9.

Illinois Girls Lacrosse Association is a non-profit organization that exists to promote and educate girls in the skill, knowledge, sportsmanship, and love of the sport of lacrosse. The Illinois Girls Lacrosse Association was created to offer all girls the opportunity to learn and play the sport of lacrosse.

The IGLA offers leagues, camps and clinics in many communities throughout Chicagoland. Over 1700 Chicagoland girls participated in the Spring of 2012. Fall League dates are September 9 through October 21. In the upcoming Fall League, all players will receive equal playing time and will be played in all positions. Age groups for the Fall League are 3rd/4th grade, 5th/6th grade, and 7th/8th/9th grade. Practices are held at Cardinal Park, 155 West Illinois Avenue in Palatine from 5:30pm to 7:00pm for all levels. Practices will include skill development, scrimmaging and team building. Most games are played between noon and 5pm on Sundays at Ron Beese Field in Barrington and other Northwest Division locations. Games will begin one week into the season and will consist of 15-20 minute halves with a five minute half time.
