Palatine Children's Chorus Sets Busy Holiday Schedule

Winter schedule includes several concerts in December and two Welcome Nights in January.

The Palatine Children's Chorus (PCC) was founded in 1987 by Judy Meyer Hays and in the 25 years since then, has become one of the northwest suburbs’ premiere children's choirs. Supported by the Palatine Park District, the chorus has grown to over 130 singers in five choirs. Concert and Honors choirs have been touring since 1997, experiencing cultures and music as far east as Vienna and as far west as Hawaii. PCC is dedicated to encouraging all children to discover the joy of music and the excitement of performing.

Throughout the coming weeks, PCC will be busy sharing the musical sounds of the holidays throughout the community.

At 4:30pm on Saturday, November 17, the Do Re Mi, Treble, Intermezzo, Concert and Honors Choirs of the Palatine Children’s Chorus will perform, followed by the lighting of the Palatine Holiday Tree in Towne Square, 150 W. Palatine Road, by Santa and Mayor Jim Schwantz.

PCC’s annual holiday concerts, Carols by Candlelight, will be held in early December. On Wednesday, December 5 at 7:00pm, the Do Re Mi and Treble choirs will perform, and on Saturday, December 8, the Treble, Intermezzo, Concert and Honors choirs will perform at 3:00pm. Both performances will be held at Cutting Hall Performing Arts Center, 150 East Wood Street, Palatine. For tickets, call the box office at 847-202-5222 or visit www.cuttinghall.org.

Throughout the year, PCC reaches out to the community to invite new members to join the group. PCC is a non-audition group that will be offering Welcome Nights on Monday, January 7 and Wednesday, January 9 from 4:30pm to 6:00pm. Children who  love to sing are invited to make a fifteen minute appointment on either night in order to learn more about the program, and to determine chorus placement. For more information or to make your Welcome Night appointment, contact Palatine Children’s Chorus at pccsings@gmail.com or 847-705-5123, x281.
