Cardinal Park, located at 155 W. Illinois Avenue, is comprised of 19.23 acres of land. The majority of the park was acquired through a donation in 1985, and the final 3.27 acre piece was purchased for $40,000 in 1987. The park is comprised of a network of paths that connect to the Palatine Trail and to Birchwood South Park. The paths lead through a beautiful wetlands area. Fields at the park are used for soccer, football and lacrosse.
