Take A Study Break With These Books

If you're not taking study breaks, you should be! Stepping away from your studies is an essential part of knowledge retention, and it makes digesting even the most grueling material easier. Shifting gears doesn't mean you need to get your nose out of the books, but that you need to switch it up. With that in mind, here are some great choices for reading on a well-earned study break.

The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway may not seem like the most obvious choice for a study break book, but this sparse literary classic is a change of pace from nearly any studies. The story follows a group of listless expatriates searching for meaning in a Europe between World Wars. Some people accuse Hemingway of meandering in The Sun Also Rises, but it is hard to argue that the final product is a powerful and beautiful piece of literature.

In World History: 50 Key Milestones You Really Need to Know, the most important events in Western history are presented in concise but comprehensive essays. While this is probably a poor break from studying for a history course, the format and content are ideal for a diversion from different classes. You can pick and choose which chapters interest you or just open the book to one at random, either way you'll be getting easy-to-digest insight into a critical event in human history.
