Hoffman Estates, IL – May 16, 2014 – Schaumburg Township Clerk Timothy M. Heneghan and Board of Trustees will Sponsor their 2nd Annual Community Shred & Electronics Recycling event on Saturday, June 7, 2014 from 9 AM – 12 PM.  This event will be held in the parking lot of the Schaumburg Township building located at 1 Illinois Blvd. Hoffman Estates, IL 60169.

This event is free and open to Schaumburg Township residents only.  Business will not be allowed to participate in this event.  Proof of residency will be required.

Prodige Processing, Inc. will provide electronics recycling.  The following items will be accepted:  Computer/IT equipment, cellphones/phones, home and office electronics, UPS backup batteries, etc.  Items that will not be accepted include:  batteries (AAA, AA, C, D, etc.) and any item leaking chemical such as a cracked computer monitor and/or crushed laptop.  CRT monitors and Tube TVs will cost $5 - $20 depending on the item. 

Paper shredding is limited to two (2) letter/legal size banker boxes no larger than 1 cubic feet or 15 x 12 x 10 in size.  Paperclips, staples and rubber bands do not need to be removed.
