Services for William C. OBrien, a longtime resident of Palatine, have been scheduled.

William C. OBrien, 87, a 44 year resident of Palatine.

Bill was born on Sept. 2, 1923, in Chicago, the son of the late William Martin and Ruth R.(Ratliff) OBrien and passed away peacefully on Saturday Aug. 13.

Bill entered the U.S. Army in 1943 where he served in the 44th Infantry Division, 324th Regiment during WWII.  Following his discharge from the service Bill attended the University of Minnesota and graduated with a degree in Bachelor’s of Business Administration. He was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma.  Bill was employed by Hardware Mutual Insurance Company for 11 years and then by Allstate Insurance Company of Northbrook for 27 years until retiring in 1986.

Beloved husband of 66 years of Adelaide “Addie” (Bihler) OBrien; loving father of Marcia (Jack) Paupa and Sharon (Peter) Berube; devoted grandfather of Jason (Shannon) Paupa, Lisa (Greg) Grupp, Jenna (Anthony) Tricarichi, Lindsey (Jon Nicholas) Hooge and Sarah Mack; cherished great grandfather of Chase, AJ, Greg, Jonnie, William and Alex; brother of the late Wallace OBrien and dear brother in law of Elizabeth OBrien.

Memorial visitation for William C. OBrien will be held on Friday Aug. 26 from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11 a.m. at All Saints Lutheran Church, 630 S. Quentin Road, Palatine, IL  60067.  Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated in memory of Bill for All Saints Lutheran Church.
