Raymond Ned Wickersham, 83

Services for long-time Palatine resident Raymond Ned Wickersham, 83, have been scheduled.

Raymond Ned Wickersham, 83, a resident of Palatine since 1950.

Memorial visitation for Raymond Wickersham will be held on Saturday Jan. 21 from 2 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 4 p.m. at the , 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine. Interment will be private.

Raymond was born on June 24, 1928 in Evanston, IL the son of the late Ralph and Sarah (Scott) Wickersham and passed away suddenly on Monday, Jan. 16 at his home.

Prior to retiring in 1988 Raymond had worked for Illinois Bell for 40 years. He also loved sports, especially softball, and was proud to have been inducted into the Amateur Softball Association Hall of Fame in 1971 and assisted with the founding of the Palatine Little League. Ray loved the outdoors and enjoyed working in his yard, gardening, feeding and watching the birds.

Beloved husband of 63 years of Marilyn (nee Arentz)  Wickersham, Donald N. (Mary), David D. (Joanne) and Nancy Wickersham, Betty (Mike) Carmon and Wendy (Randy) Franz; cherished grandfather of Jenny (David) Dillow, Andrew (Kelly), Michael (Heather), Megan (Fiancee Christiaan LeMasney), Daniel (Alexis) and Matthew Wickersham, Molly (Andy) Thompson, Douglas Wickersham, Adam and John Carmon, Chelsea (Fiancee Matt DeBall), Kylie and the late Jessica Franz; dear great grandfather of 7.

In lieu of flowers memorials would be appreciated in memory of Ray for the Raymond Ned Wickersham Horticulture Scholarship Fund, C/O Friends of the McHenry County College Foundation, 8900 US Hwy. 14, Crystal Lake, IL  60012.
