Obituary: Suzanne L. Sisson of Palatine

Sisson was a five-time finalist of the Pillsbury Bake-Off, an expert chef and volunteer for many organizations. A memorial visitation will be held Thursday, January 10.

Suzanne L. Sisson, 65, of Palatine, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 2nd.  She was preceded in death by her father, John G. Hein, and her mother, Louise (Kautzmann) Witzke.

Suzie is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, John Sisson. She was the mother of John Sisson, Jr. of Chicago and Matthew (Stephanie) Sisson of Grayslake; cherished grandmother of Jack and Sarah Sisson, dear sister of John Hein of Bartlett and Joy (Glenn) Pinnau of Capron. Also surviving her are nieces, a nephew, many cousins, her favorite uncle Oscar Kautzmann of Florida, and her Auntie Norma L’Esperance of Georgia, as well as her faithful dachshund, Lucy.

Her life was filled with many proud accomplishments. She was a five-time finalist of the Pillsbury Bake-Off, a perennial volunteer for the American Cancer Society and many other worthy organizations. Suzie was a patent-holder, team Mom, expert chef and was always ready to help her friends and neighbors. She took great pride in her gardening, her homemaking skills, her love of sports and most anything athletic.

Services will be held at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 North Northwest Highway, Palatine, on Thursday, January 10th with memorial visitation beginning at 4:00 p.m. followed by a brief memorial service at 6:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorials would be appreciated to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater Illinois Chapter, 525 West Monroe Street, Chicago, IL 60661.
